[Download & Watch] Shakey Graves: Keeping Austin Weird

[Sounds like: Bon Iver, Ray Lamontagne, Railroad Earth]

If you take one part Bon Iver, two parts Ray LaMontagne, and add a little more soul and fire inside his twanging guitar, then what you have is singer- songwriter, Shakey Graves (formerly known as Alejandro Rose-Garci), from Austin, TX. This man is full of talent and may be a new favorite of mine. His rhythm flows, but in a speedy manner that brings along with it simply good ole’ southern music. Accompanied by a raspy, yet pure voice, Shakey Graves’ music is that which you will enjoy.

With his recent album, Roll The Bones, Shakey Graves delivers music that really hits the nail on the head. And not only does he have that going for him, but Shakey Graves is also the kind of guy you’d like to sit down and have a beer (or two) with. And to back that opinion up, attached after the jump is a short clip with Shakey Graves on how he got his name and giving you a taste of what he is all about. Enjoy
