[Read, Listen, & Download] 5 Albums to Grab, 1 to Anticipate

[Sounds like: Matthew Mayfield, Fitz & The Tantrums, Mumford & Sons, The Lumineers,
Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, Xavier Rudd]

Ok, so not all of these are albums, but the title just flowed so effortlessly...

The music scene has been exploding lately thanks to a recent surge of talented debuts, albums, and other oddities of the music market. This feature is simple: I'm here to give you 5 to grab, and another to anticipate. What does that mean? Well I'm putting the best projects from recent weeks in one place for your consideration. Some are free, others are a few bucks, and one is to leave you wanting more. Regardless of the price tag, however, your summer is about to get a musical kick start. Hit the jump below to see the list, listen to a few songs, and download the best from the recent weeks...

[Purchase] "A Banquet For Ghosts"
by Matthew Mayfield

Beat Dropping favorite, Matthew Mayfield, just released another album titled "A Banquet For Ghosts." Easily his most raw and emotional project to date, Mayfield only adds to his list of incredible works. He's got an irresistibly smokey voice and won't hesitate to move even the coldest of heart with it. This one will set you back $9.99, but in my opinion, it's worth every penny (especially if you're just starting to educate yourself on the man). Stream the entire album above, then click the link above to purchase it.

[Download] "House of Blues Boston EP"
by Fitz & The Tantrums

I featured Fitz & The Tantrums a while ago but unfortunately couldn't supply you with a download link. Times have changed, my friends, as Fitz and his gang released a FREE five track EP on their website a couple of weeks ago. It's got your favorites, with a little attitude and audience interaction in between. Pretty straight forward stuff from the band, except you're getting live recordings instead of studio produced tracks. don't let that deter you, however, as the quality of recording is just as good. Stream their studio hits above, but follow the download link to grab the EP.

[Download] "2012 Pinkpop Live Set"
by Mumford & Sons

Here's one for the mainstream folk out there. Even though Mumford & Sons have blown up and wouldn't normally be featured on Beat Dropping (we focus on the unheard and undiscovered), I couldn't resist giving y'all their entire 2012 Pinkpop live set. It includes 12 tracks that they perform flawlessly. Tommy and I both have a sweet spot for these guys, as should you. We only wish we could have been at this show. Stream their biggest hits above, but follow the download link to grab the entire live show for FREE. Amazing

[Purchase] "The Lumineers"
by The Lumineers

I featured these guys yesterday, and I'm bring them back again today. Their self-titled album debuted back in April, but I thought I'd include it anyway. It's just that good. Between just the three of them, The Lumineers are producing some of the best folk sounds around - all the way from Denver. Stream one of our favorites from the album above, then follow the link to grab the collection for $9.99.

[Purchase] "Here"
by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros

You honestly can't go wrong with Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. They're a quirky bunch that embody the folk genre. They're foot-stomping-hand-clappin' kind of music, and they released their new album, "Here," this past week. You have some of their hits, such as Home, still lingering around with a heavy dose of new material. And hey, guess what? It's all so damn good. Stream some of the album above, then click on to purchase the album for, you guessed it, $9.99.

[Anticipate & Pre-Order] "Spririt Bird"
by Xavier Rudd

I've been obsessed with this Aussie for a while now. Xavier Rudd has such a unique delivery and fun style, that some forget how deep this man can be. He plans on reminding people with his upcoming album, "Spirit Bird." Set to release on June 8th, you can stream a sneak peek above, and begin anticipating an album that is sure to be incredible. Australians are so cool. Follow the link above to pre-order this one.

There. That's all I got for today. I'm sorry they're not all for free, but if you weren't so greedy, you wouldn't care. Cough up that $9.99 and pick out your favorite from above. Help these guys out, they sure as hell deserve it. Show us some affection and let us know if you'd like to see more features like this one in the future by clicking "love" or commenting below. If you click "hate," then we hate you. Peace out
