[Listen & Watch] Suspenders and Sundresses: The Lumineers

[Sounds like: Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Head & The Heart, Mumford & Sons]

Sharing is caring. Tommy sent this one my way and I selfishly ran away with it. They're called The Lumineers and they make really good music. I love it when that happens, when a band makes good music, ya know? I guess I'll tell ya'll a little about these guys (and girl). They're simple folk; suspenders frequent the wardrobe, sundresses too. They tour in a minivan with a vanity plate and have made the hand tambourine look awesome. They began their journey in Denver and their names are Wesley, Jeremiah, and Neyla. Two friends from a New York City suburb brought closer by tragedy and a classically trained cellist attracted by a Craigslist ad came together to make a few songs and play a couple gigs.

"And so The Lumineers sound took shape; an amalgam of heart-swelling stomp-and-clap acoustic rock, classic pop, and front-porch folk."

The Lumineers recently debuted their first, self-titled album in April and have been selling out show after show ever since. But hey, I don't know where any of you live, so if you're trying to catch a show, you can find their tour schedule here. The bottom line: The Lumineers are simple people with great music. They're doing this whole thing the right way - for the fans and any other willing ears. It's time you join the bandwagon, it's bound to be overflowing at some point.
