A Personal Favorite

Not a new song by any means, "Dry," by William Elliot Whitmore, is one of my favorite songs. Simple instruments accompanied by a perfectly scratchy voice, this song should please many, as it did me the first time I heard it. Visit his iTunes page if you like his style.

Mp3 Christmas Part 2: Acoustic, Alternative, & Folk

Today is Cee-Lo Green's 37th birthday, and what better way to celebrate it then two covers of his songs "Georgia" and "Bright Lights, Bigger City." Another two songs after the covers, both on the folk side, rather than an acoustic singer-songwriter feel. All are great to sit back and relax to, as they have summer written all over them. Hope you enjoy

Mp3 Christmas Part 1: Hip-Hop/Rap

I realize I've been absent since Tuesday, but maybe some good can come out of my dissapearance. If you're a follower of Beat Dropping (if you're not, you should be), then this will be like an mp3 Christmas. While I was out, there have been several tracks debuted and obsessed over. No better way than to start the fun off with some new hip-hop/rap and mashups. Chiddy Bang came out with a new, full length album named "Peanut Butter and Swelly." In my opinion, their first album was in a different league then this new one, so I'm only posting the two tracks I felt were worthy. Wiz Khalifa has been busy as usual, dropping new tracks and being the focus of others. I'll let the play buttons below please the ears, enjoy.

Heatwave (ft. Mac Miller, Trae the Truth, & Casey Veggies) - Chiddy Bang

Too Much Soul - Chiddy Bang

Buss Down - Wiz Khalifa

Reefer Party - Wiz Khalifa

Huey Newton Against the World - DJ ak3

Apologies

I know I've been absent the past couple of days, and I apologize. Hulk Share is giving me some issues with uploading new tracks. But once I figure it out, it'll be like an mp3 Christmas for Beat Dropping followers. Hang in there, should be back in business Monday.

Save the World Tonight - Cover or Original?

Here's a simple, yet beautiful acoustic cover of Swedish House Mafia's "Save the World Tonight." It's up to you to decide which you like better - the original or McLoughlin's cover. Personally I like the acoustic version a lot more, although the two are used for different moods and settings. Regardless, I hope you enjoy both

Late Night Soul with Chet Faker

If you're up late like I am, this song from Chet Faker is perfect. Smooth, silky, and soulful, "No Diggity" is perfect for a late night cruise or just for relaxing. Awesome song

New Mother Earth Remixes

I love this mashup group, that includes Young Church. Every song just works, and works extremely well. They just came out with two new mashups and both are no exceptions. The most recent is summed up by the group:
"So here's a new one from me and Young Church. Church laced a real hot beat sampling Bobby Moore's 1960s track 'Searching for my Baby' and I added a few touches on it to come up with a pretty upbeat track. This one features Fabo and Jay-Z"

Finals are Done, Time to Relax

I'm finally done with finals, and all I want to do is begin enjoying the summer. I'm off to a good start with some Urban Noize, a mashup duo consisting of two, twin brothers based out of Miami. Urban Noize recently dropped a track mixing Michael Buble's "Home" and some Boro. Sit back, relax, and enjoy your summer.

Yes Please

Just a little heads up: I've been stalking on twitter the last couple of hours and noticed a conversation unfolding between Brenton Duvall (@brentonRules) and Tayyib Ali (@TayyibAli). Could be hearsay, but there's talk of recording together. Not much to say other than that the word epic is written all over it. If it happens, it'll be posted on Beat Dropping without thinking twice. Keep the fingers crossed

Another Acoustic for Finals Week

Here's a simple, slow tune from Motopony called "King of Diamonds." I'm already burnt out on studying and have yet to take a final, but this song is helping me stay alive. Great to study to, hopefully it'll help you out too.

New Ben Howard

Ben Howard just came out with a new, live EP entitled "London." I'm in the midst of studying for finals (posting may be scarce between now and Wednesday, but I'll try and keep you happy), and this song dropped at the perfect time. Great to study to, "London" starts off slow then picks up just a little to produce a beautiful track. Hope you enjoy, and if you're studying too, best of luck. Keep checking out his website and support his music

Mashups For Your Friday

If you're studying for finals, I'll put up another post in a little to satisfy your mood, but this one is for those already out for the summer. R3K just came out with two new mashups featuring Kid Cudi and Lil Wayne. Both have great flow and scream summer is here. Hope you enjoy

Six Fingaz

I was lucky enough to have enjoyed some live music last night in downtown Spartanburg, and I stress lucky. His name is Josh McCaa, he has six fingers, and he can play some incredible music. I didn't get to talk to him for very long, but he's one of the nicest guys I've met and continually allowed two of my friends to sing and beat box with him. A great guy with some awesome music; check out his website  and help support him. Enjoy

Looping with Ebrahim

I don't know who this guy is, but he has some serious talent. I found him by chance, stumbling on my computer in the library while procrastinating. In the song above he mixes a little bit of Bob Marley, some Fugees, and a tad of The Roots. Needless to say, this guy is awesome. If you like him, check out his youtube profile. Vocals come in around the 1:25 mark

Ellie Goulding You Don't Have That You Should Have

Ellie Goulding is quite possibly one of my favorite voices ever, and it's just my luck that she is one of the most remixed artists out there today. That being said, most tracks have been heard, such as Bassnectar's "Lights." Here are a couple of Ellie remixes you probably haven't heard of, but you should definitely own if you're a fan. Enjoy

One More for Your Monday Night

Here's an energetic track produced by RAC. I don't know much about them other than that they can make an occasionally awesome remix. Here's one remixing Foster the People's "Houdini." The more you listen to it, the more you'll love it. Enjoy

Adventure Club Whomp

I haven't posted dubstep in a while, and those of you that are my friends know that's out of the ordinary. I love a good whomp session, but haven't found a stand out track that I feel will satisfy my fans needs, or mine for that matter. That is, until now. "Broken Lungs" is a great track that progressively builds up until a perfect, laid back drop. Enjoy the new Adventure Club remix below, as well as an older track that carries a little more bass...

Sunday Recovering

Here's a great cover of a great classic - "You Dropped A Bomb On Me." Mark Lesseraux hits the nail on the head with his own version and makes it easy to enjoy. With an old school sound and an inevitably nostalgic feeling, this track is perfect for a little Sunday recovering

One More Because I'm Obsessed

I'm sure you won't mind another...

I Need A Dollar - Aloe Blacc

Aloe Blacc's "99 Problems"

One of the best feelings is finding a song that you instantly grow obsessed with and consequently listen to on repeat for days. I just had that feeling. His name is Aloe Blacc and the song is a cover of Jay-Z's "99 Problems," and Kanye West's "Can't Tell Me Nothing." This track is probably one of the most unique covers out there, and definitely that I've heard of. Great track and now my personal favorite.

New Basic Physics Mixtape

Basic Physics came out with a new mixtape, named "Nightlife in the Northwoods," about a month ago. As always the mashup duo delivers big. Click the down-arrow on the side of each track to download; the full, streaming mixtape is after my two favorites.

Give Drake the Greenlight (John Legend // Drake) by Basic Physics

listen for the 2:10 mark for the Lil Wayne drop, overall a sick track with a laid back beat

Coming Home Cover

I'm a sucker for Boyce Avenue and his cover songs. He recently released another, in which he teams up with DeStorm to cover "Coming Home." A great track that is a must download. If you like Boyce, support his music via iTunes.

One More for Your Sunday Night

Chris Castle reminds me a lot of Railroad Earth, a band I posted about a couple of weeks ago. A folk/country style, Castle has a great sound. Catch up on your work while listening to "Both Ends of the Gun."

Sunday Recovering

What's better than a rap song turned into acoustic gold? Not much, and this song is no exception. Recover on your Sunday night with J.T. Roach; I'll let the play button surprise you
