Officially obsessed with The Good Husbands

Ever since I heard "Things I Haven't Done," I've been stalking The Good Husbands. I'm not sure what it is about them, but they grab my attention from start to finish and more times than not, I'm catching myself moving my head to the beat and verses. Bravo to The Good Husbands on another great track, "Ima Do Me." Short, but great.

Easy Cover by Cas Haley

Here's one more song to relax to tonight. I'll post more progressively upbeat songs later tonight, but for now, I'm relaxing with Cas Haley. This guy is fat, happy, and loving life. For some reason the embed player won't work for this song, so just play the video or click the link below.

Playing for Change: Connecting the World Through Music

I hate Mondays and these songs, which I've had in my library for a while now, have been helping me get through the day. It's pretty cool to see so many different people and cultures coming together to promote world peace through dance and song. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do. If you want to learn more about their cause, visit their site at

Young Wild & Free

I don't know what else to say other than this song is absolutely filthy. This track has some of the smoothest flow I have ever laid ears on.

Young Wild & Free - Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa

The Dean's List New Mixtape

The Dean's List just came out with their new mixtape, "The Drive In," and it's one of the best tapes I have heard in a while. Sponsored by Good Music All Day, BroBible, and Karmaloop, this mixtape delivers with laid back rhymes, the occasional female vocal, and Chiddy Bang-esque skits. The album download is below the previewed tracks; hope you enjoy

Relaxing with Blackmill

I spent all day at a conference, so I'm tired and in the mood to relax and watch the Duke game. Blackmill is one of my favorite womp generators and they catch your attention simply because they've mastered the art of mixing a feeling of relaxation with dubstep. Lay back if your eyes are heavy and enjoy these tracks.

Late Night With Boyce Avenue

I hate the originals of each of these songs, but Boyce Avenue turns them into something great. One of my favorite acoustic songwriters, Boyce takes numerous tracks and puts his own twist on them, and more times than not, turns them into gold. You'll be hearing a lot more from him later on. Enjoy these late night tracks for now.

Baby I'm Yours ft. Irfane by Breakbot

I'm sitting in the library avoiding work, so I thought I'd post another song. A funky beat and vocals, this song and music video serve as a good distraction. Enjoy it

Keep Your Thursday Rolling With Moufy

Here's two more tracks from Moufy, both are sick. This kid has a filthy way of delivering his lyrics, whether it's over an original beat or a preexisting one...

Dead Presidents - Moufy

We In The Building - Moufy

Getting Your Thursday Going with The Good Husbands

This is a perfect song to get your day going, regardless of the mood you wake up in. You might question it at first but wait until The Good Husbands start throwing out verses. Sara Bareilles suddenly becomes irresistible. A great duo, a great song. Keep checking the site today, I'm gonna be dropping some new songs later.

Absolute gold. Nothing else to it.

Old School Beat from Kidz In The Hall

The Kidz In The Hall are new to me, but I'm enjoying what I'm hearing. I love the flowing verses and the old school beats. It all works so well, especially in their recent track titled "So Amzin'" I'll post more from them in the coming days.

So Amzin' - Kidz In The Hall

Melt Your Brain With a Little Womp

I'm obsessed with my fair share of dubstep, just ask my friends about my obsession with Ellie Goulding. Wednesday nights are always a good time and why not melt some brain cells with a little bass fire? Some old and some new but either way they get the job done.

The Dave Matthews Caravan News

I'm a big Dave fan and I blew a gasket when they announced they weren't doing a summer tour this year. Fortunately, just announced that the band will be "staging four mini-festivals." Dave explains:
"2011 is our 20th anniversary as a band and we want to celebrate by playing music together. While we are still taking the year off from touring, we have decided to plan four multi-day, multi-artist music events that will take place this summer. We will be sending out save the date emails and announcing more information soon but we wanted to share the news with our fans first."
I'll be sure to let you know when those exact dates come out and where the band will be for sure, but for now, says that on DMB's website, the shows are on "June 24-26 in the Northeast/Mid-Atlantic region; July 8-10 in the Midwest, and TBAs in August and September. DMB will perform a headlining set each night." Look forward to it, should be wild

Falling Asleep with Kid Cudi

The first of my acoustic/songwriter posts, "You Can Run" is a track by Bryan Greenberg who teamed up with Kid Cudi. It may come as a surprise, but Cudi can sing, and sing well. Let yourself fall asleep to this one tonight.

Late Night Beat from Eddy B & Tim Gunter

I found this on and thought it was similar to my post featuring Moufy. Laid back, chill, and mouth watering. The staff at GMAD likes it too:
"100% original production from Tim with the violin, claps, and electronics added. Eddy B writes and performs some dope lyrics."
Nowhere To Go - Eddy B & Tim Gunter

Dub FX

Originally I was going to upgrade the sight and integrate more genre's of music with different tabs, (which I still plan on doing - expect to see some rock and acoustic/songwriter stuff later down the road), but I have no idea what to classify Dub FX as. Maybe beats/hip-hop/reggae? But how often do you find others in such a genre? This guy is literally a one man show. He records his own beats by mouth, layer by layer, and then adds his lyrics. If you like his sound, visit his site at and buy some of his albums for pretty cheap. What comes next is dirty.

Rain is Gone (ft. Flower Fairy) - Dub FX

Stjepan Hauser and Luka Sulic Violin Cover of "Smooth Criminal"

I found this violin cover of Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" today and thought I'd share it. Personally I've thought violin covers were badass ever since I found Peter Lee Johnson's cover of Lupe's "The Show Goes On" on Enjoy

BBC Radio Mix by Bassnectar

This one is for Taylor Wilson's birthday and in anticipation of what his head will be going through in the morning during his 8 O'clock class. This song itself is filthy and if played at a party, find a lady friend. Here's to brother Wilson

The JBW Experiment

Two of my good friends from high school, John Barry and Brooks Whitmore, started making music in 2007 and haven't looked back. Their raw talent is undeniable and they're trying make a name for themselves. If you like what you hear, visit their Sound Cloud website after the tracks and give them some hits. You'll definitely see more from these guys, regardless of whether it's on Beat Dropping or somewhere else. To download click the down arrow on the right side of the track.

Campus Consciousness Tour Featuring Wiz and Mac

I caught wind of this a little too late, or I would have tried to get tickets for the Raleigh show on April 1st. Wiz Khalifa and Mac Miller are touring colleges across the States throughout April. The shows should be amazing, and I'm interested in how well the duo will mesh. In anticipation, here are my favorite tracks and a taste of what to look forward to if you're lucky enough to go.

Enjoy the Day with Moufy

It's a beautiful day in Spartanburg, and what a better way to spend it then hanging outside with a laid back beat from Moufy. One of my personal favorites...

Twist It and Light It - Moufy

Monday Mornings with The Milkman

A little mashup to get your day started off on the right foot. I'll be posting more from the Milkman, especially from his album "Algorithms." Not every song is my style, as he can get kinda fruity, but I'll post the ones I like and give you the option to some others. Regardless, this guys got talent. Thanks to Jordan Kay for letting me know about him

All of the Lights Remix by Pretty Lights

A pretty recent remix by Pretty Lights, this song gets the adrenaline pumping. I never much cared for Kanye's original, but I'm a sucker for electronic and dubstep. The music video is just as ridiculous as the song. Hope you enjoy it
